This plant is minor lettuce. The leaf looks like a lily pad. You can eat the flower and the leaf. The flower is spicy. The flower is not part of the minor lettuce. A long time ago, when people were miners, they ate the lettuce and that's why they named it miner lettuce. Zoey, our gardening teacher, thinks it's something else.
